Our Boer Goat Corrals are home to about 300 brood does and several full blood Boer bucks. In our breeding program, we have focused on percentage does and full blood bucks, with careful selection for correct breed character, body conformation and style, and consistency in reproduction. The pedigree is the final thing we look at and we use the pedigree to make the final decision. We began expanding our full blood doe group in 2006, and currently have around 40 full blood does. Our older foundation bucks include K-204 Pipeline's twin brother, P-132 a Pipeline son out of a Dello doe - and a Ryals RDR Bias buck. We have many brood does from these bloodlines. These three bucks have sired many successful show stock for us as well as our buyers. Sport our Ubora/Elbora bloodline outcross buck, was Grand Champion Buck at the 2005 NAILE, and 2005 KY State Fair as a yearling and at least division champion in every show he attended. He was described as the "perfect Boer Buck" by 3 different judges. Mo Sport, our Sport son was 4th in his class at Indiana and Kentucky, and third in Illinois. One of our very successful wether sires is FSE Spirit, who also sires beautiful show stock. He is currently making champion wethers in Texas, 900 being one of his sons, and we have many of his percentage daughters in our wether program. The buck we fell in love with as a baby, "Proto-Type" who is working for another breeder now, has sired a core group of does for us, and many show winners. We added "Bo-Howdy" bloodlines to our breeding program with the purchase of "Bo-Vision" a "Bo-Howdy" son in 2005, who was very successful in the show ring and is our top wether producer, as well as one of our top producers of show does. We followed in 2006 with another "Bo-Howdy" son, Bo Buck, who won his class at the 2006 Indiana Boer Goat Classic in Franklin. Both of these bucks are working for us in our breeding program, as well as for some of our select customers. Boilermaker, our October 2005 "Design 19" son from Downen's, is well on his way towards ennoblement. He was Reserve Champion Junior Buck at the Indiana Boer Goat Classic in Franklin, Reserve Champion Buck at the Illinois State Fair, and Grand Champion Buck at the Kentucky State Fair, where the judge described him as best Boer buck he has seen. Boilermaker was Grand Champion overall on the 2006 On Line Goat Show at boergoats.com, Reserve Champion Yearling Buck at the 2006 NAILE, and Grand Champion Overall Buck at both the Tri-State Boer Goat Shows in May, 2007. Boilermaker's daughter, a pureblood, was Reserve Grand Champion Full Blood Doe at the IBGC Show in Veedersburg, Indiana, as well as being third in her class of 65 at the 2007 NAILE.
Our new breeding stock buck, Totally Ripped, is from Lary Duncan - we purchased this particular buck because of all the bucks in this group, he looked most like his daddy. We believe Totally Ripped is going to do a very good job for us. We have kids on the ground - we like them!
And - our newest addition in the buck corrall - we just call him HUMMER - and his name says it all! |
